making a donation to the pantry?

  • !! IMPORTANT !! please label and date fresh products with ingredients, made on date and use by date. unlabeled food will be discarded.

  • please check the labels on packaged items. if items are already expired but you think they are “still good” please don’t leave them here. for the Pantry to stay open, we need to make sure all contributions are within a use by date.

  • fresh fruit and veggies

    bread and pastries (labeled)

    nonperishable pantry items

    sealed prepared meals (with use by date and ingredients labeled)

    fresh eggs (with use by date and clean)

    unopened dairy products (with best by date)

    diapers, baby food & formula

    cooked meat & lunch meals (labeled)

    cleaning supplies

    hygiene products & PPE (sealed with best by date)

    over-the-counter meds & nasal narcan (sealed with best by date)

    camping gear & cooking equipment (new or gently used but clean)

    underwear & socks (new)

    books, art supplies, puzzles & toys

    clothes (new or used - if used, must be cleaned, not showing and signs of wear or visible stains)

  • raw (uncooked) meat

    alcoholic beverages

    unlabeled, multi-ingredient items

    unsealed prepared meals

    expired items

    sharp objects

    prescription drugs

    household furniture items

    ANYTHING YOU WOULD NOT FEED OR GIVE TO YOUR OWN FAMILY

  • you can directly donate requested goods from our community via our amazon wishlist

  • you can contribute funds to help with the cost of solar panels and restocking the pantry via Venmo,

locate the pantry

the pantry will visit designated, scheduled satellite locations for an extended period of time. locations will span the entire city - not just the peninsula - and will be accessible to individuals, families, and neighborhoods where there is limited public or personal transportation.

the pantry will be at CHAVAL - 58 pine street / portland, me - until 8/18.
it’s open 7a - 11p at its current location.
